This bowl came from the gallery of Mathias Komor, a well known early Chinese arts dealer in New York City from 1941 to 1984. It comes with a sticker label from the gallery, and also a typed document with a description of the artwork on Komor's letterhead. This item was acquired from the estate of a long-time antiques collector in Beverly Hills, California.
Many artworks from the estate had been in the same family for three generations. The bowl has an old surface patina and natural crackled glaze that only comes with age. The free hand drawing of a flower has a natural flow showing the artist's mastery of glaze painting. Measures 7.5" (23cm) in diameter, and 3" (9cm) in height.
There's a hairline crack approximately 2 long (see 5th photo), and some minor chips or firing flaws around the rim (see 3rd photo). The wood stand shown in the second photo is not included.
