34cm Turquoise Glaze Zun Vase Song Yuan or Ming Dynasty Chinese
Chinese Turquoise Glaze Zun Form Vase. I've added some pictures taken in sunlight. Antique Chinese Monochrome glazed vases like this come alive in the sun, but unfortunately, its very hard to capture on photographs. This listing is for an antique Chinese Zun from vase, decorated with turquoise monochrome glaze. As is often the case with these ancient Chinese monochrome glazes, they are very hard to photograph - our flash pictures do not fully capture the deep turquoise colour of the glaze. This is a very old vase. It was made in the Song, Yuan or Ming Dynasty. We acquired this vase from the estate of Arthur Erickson, and its been in our collection since. Erickson was a famous architect who lived in Vancouver, and died in 2009. He designed numerous cutting edge buildings, including the Canadian Embassy in Washington DC.
This vase is in good condition for its age. Some flaking and chipping to the glaze, mostly around the footrim base and mouth rim, as you can see in the photographs, otherwise very good - no cracks, no repairs. It is about 12 3/4 inches or about 34.3 cm tall.
It weighs about 3.005kg. The item "34cm Turquoise Glaze Zun Vase Song Yuan or Ming Dynasty Chinese" is in sale since Sunday, September 3, 2017. This item is in the category "Antiques\Asian Antiques\China\Vases". The seller is "avionsunantiques" and is located in victoria, BC.
